Hey Fiona! Thanks for being a part of Origins Tapes! Can you start by introducing yourself in 3 words?

Hi! I’m Fiona, a dj from Paris :)

Tell us about this mix - what’s the ideal setting to listen to this mix?

Loved working on this mix - I tried to embrace what I experienced when I played your parties, the ethereal atmosphere of loosing yourself in an environment with (i hope) good sound that make you feel something. You need good headphones or a decent soundsystem - getting ready to go out or working out!

Favourite track inside?

Love the intro track from Olsvanger, one of my favorite producers at the moment.

Having a half Swiss / Italian background but living in Paris - how do you think your background has shaped your sound?

My parents are Italians but I grew up in Switzerland. I wasn’t Swiss enough for the Swiss and not Italian enough for the Italians, I always felt like I don’t belong completely. Not super fun as a kid but now it’s one of the things I cherish the most, if you don’t feel like you belong just make your own space, I guess it’s what I’m trying to do with my music, adapt to my environment but stay true to my own identity and don’t try to fit anymore.

What would be your ideal set to play for a club night - warm up, peak time or close and why?

I love a peak time cause I feel so energized with witnessing a crowd experience euphoria. I love warm ups to but to be honest it’s not my forte, when I have eye contact with the front rows and I feel them craving a fun night, I usually can’t help myself trying to provide that to them.

Who are you listening to right now?

I’m currently on a quest to find more music to meditate to and that calms me with healing hertz and been loving H.Takahashi Low Power album

Any exciting plans in the pipeline?

I’m releasing my own music for the first time this year :)
