Paige Mix
London-based, Paige, is next up for #57 on our Tapes Series. Paige made her entrance into the music industry co-running and curating event and label, Night Service Records.
Her approach to DJing draws influence from her dance-floor experiences and how music makes you feel, crossing club-focused genres frequently. Her style combines tribal, hard drum, and UK funky infused tracks with heavier techno sounds. Music to dance to.
Paige recently visited berlin for her HÖR debut. With regular shows on KINDRED radio, Paige has also guested on various other stations including Rinse FM, Balamii, Munich based Radio 80k, Foundation Fm and more, as well as various other streams and events at a variety of underground clubs and venues including Corsica Studios, Tate Britain for RA, Fold, Patterns, and Phonox, just to mention a few. For Paige, however, the music experience is more than just sound, she also brings a creative flair to the scene by working as a digital designer and visual artist, focusing on creating dynamic graphic visuals to amplify and enhance her brand as the core in-house creative at Night Service. With Night Service, Paige, puts focus on creating community, safe space & coming to the club for the dancefloor experience.

Hey Paige, how are things! Why don't you start by introducing yourself for those that don’t know and where are you currently residing?
Hey ! I’m currently based in East London, originally from near Birmingham. I am a DJ, visual artist and creative who also co-runs and curates the label/party Night Service.
Tell us a bit about this mix. Where did you record it?
I recorded the mix in our little 1 bed flat, which really is my sanctuary and favourite place to be, especially when it comes to finding what I want to play and recording mixes.
Let’s talk about who or what has inspired the direction of your mixes over the years.
The main thing that inspires the direction of my mixes and what I play is my club experiences and how different music makes me feel in the moment. It mostly inspires me to make people want to move!!
For those that don’t know Paige co-runs top-notch party/label, Night Service. Tell us about the idea behind Night Service and what it means to you!
Myself & my partner, Bailey Ibbs, started Night Service nearly 4 years ago so it really is our baby. We wanted to create our own platform that allowed us to curate and explore the side of partying that we wanted to see more of! It’s always been about community and pushing forward who and what we love.
What should we expect to see/hear from Night Service in the coming months?
So many exciting things, we’ve been working sooo hard. Our biggest party to date at FOLD on 24th June, with a very sexy line-up coming from London, Berlin & Portugal. Parties at Venue MOT and of course our friends & family series at Tola. As well as some other exciting collabs and takeovers. I need to SHH before I say too much, but 2022 feels like a super special year for us, following the first EP released last month.
What would you like to see more of in the electronic music community in London?
I guess more pop-up DIY spaces in London (that feel safe and with perfect sound) - it seems like there is a lot more freedom for venues in other places, like Berlin.
A few quick-fire Qs to finish then: Favourite track inside?
I think at the moment the D.Dan remix of Mutant Exotic. I heard him play it out a while back and I’ve been waiting for it ever since.
What would your dream venue look like?
Can I say FOLD haha? Just a space where everyone is dancing & has the best intentions & respect for each other. I also really love a little sun trap outdoor area.

I will never stop watching LSDXOXO.
