Up next for Tapes #85 is London-based DJ, producer, label owner, and radio host Wager, who’s become known for championing an array of sounds from across the electronic and club music spectrum.

Toni Yotzi is up next for Tapes #72, a staple of both the festival and club circuit across Australia. Her sets traverse four decades of dance music with frenetic energy and zero compromise; from neon-hued techno and prog to tripped out bass and dubstep, trap, and up-to-the-minute club tracks from the boundless fount of domestic talent she’s ingratiated with across Australia.

For #65 on our Tapes series is the champion of maximalist left-field dance, Sangre Voss. He’s been pushing sounds out of South-East London since his debut Dance Class EP, released via Third Place in 2019 and now runs the eclectic pseudo pseudo as a platform for the more under-loved and peripheral genres.

Here to take #63 on our Tapes series is ELLES, an artist, DJ and producer from London with a catalogue of releases and appearances on acclaimed labels including Naive, Naivety, Love On The Rocks, Dark Entries and Super Drama.

Brussels-based producer, DJ and artist Cleveland, is up next for #62 on our Tape Series. The sound universe of Cleveland, although versatile, is clearly recognisable. Cleveland's productions are subtle with a modern feel built around warm "Left-field" tones and organic rhythms while keeping a dancefloor focus through strangely elegant grooves. 

Up next on our Tapes Series for #54 is London-based DJ Ill Evans. Starting out as an intern at a well known techno label, he soon established a cult following for his party Kindred. After a number of sold out shows, lockdown kicked in, putting his nightlife ventures on ice. Unperturbed though he continued to develop the Kindred brand, opening a shop and radio station in London’s Farringdon area. Broadcasting every Tuesday throughout the day the radio station has hosted high profile names like Peach, Lyster, Mantra, DJ Tasha and DJ Skimask.

The rise of online radio stations with their unrestricted musical policies has been a perfect blessing for Tia Cousins. She is a collector with a passion for in-between sounds, for experimental genres and niches both old and new. Frankly, she has a collection that belies her young years, but one that has won her plenty of recognition in underground circles, from NTS to Balamii, the Tate Gallery to Brilliant Corners. We’re so excited to have her feature as #29 on our Tapes series.

North London Producer rumu is up next for #28 of our Tapes series. Rumu provides a contemporary nod to the London rave scene of the past, with support on NTS, Balamii and BBCR1 under his belt.

Bristol based, DJ, Producer, and Pianist Manami has been killing it playing on huge lineups for years, holding monthly residencies on Worldwide FM and Noods, and releasing a string of solid releases over the last year that suggest there are more records sure to be in the pipeline. At the end of 2020 Manami gave Origins the best end-of-year soundtrack when she took over our Selects playlist and it's the percussive, eclectic and driving taste in her music and sets that makes us so excited to welcome her for Origins Tapes #27.

Atlanta-based Producer and DJ Nikki Nair is up next for #22 of our Tapes series. In such a short time, he’s distinguished himself as a bold voice in the landscape of hybridized dance music and has released on Scuffed, Pretty Weird, Gobstopper, Banoffee Pies, Muy Muy Limited, TRAM Planet, and Dirtybird. Nair’s productions, in conjunction with his selection skills, establish him as a fresh, unconventional voice in dance music and we’re excited to be welcoming him for our Origins Tapes series.

Hailing from south-east London via Bath is co-founder of the newly formed Black Artist Database (FKA Black Bandcamp), NIKS. Versatile leftfield digger and selector, NIKS’ face and name has become the forefront of the underground scene and is one activist to keep your eye on.
